Strands Beach Proposal

On Feb 12, the Coastal Commision heard a proposal from OC Parks to build a walkway and reventment on the north side of Strands. The walkway and reventment destroy nearly 26,000 square feet of area that is currently sandy beach for public use. In opposition to the proposal, students attended the Coastal Commision’s meeting and voiced their objections. A few of the students included Clayton Vincent, Evan McMillen, Eian McMillen, Danny Cullen, Trent Mcclung, Matthew Pool, Anna Nemeth and Justin Edward. Due to the efforts of the students and others, the reventment proposition was denied. Strands is officially saved.
