After years of EA disappointing fans with bland and uninspired single player experiences, Fallen Order faced a formidable challenge. It would either bring back Star Wars games from the dead, or serve as the final nail in the coffin. Illustrating the journey of Cal Kestis in his quest to restore the Jedi Order a few years after the execution of Order 66 and the rise of the Empire, this game did not disappoint. This is clearly shown by its becoming the fastest selling Star Wars game on PC since its release.
It offers an incredibly fun and rewarding combat system, with a variety of enemies and bosses to fight. It could have used more combat customization abilities, however. The beautiful visuals and music serve to perfectly capture the Star Wars nostalgia.
To put it simply, if you own a PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC and are a fan of the Star Wars universe, buying this game during the holiday season should be a priority. It is the definition of a breath of fresh air for fans of the franchise. As long as companies continue to acknowledge the popularity and value of single player adventures such as these, the future seems bright for the genre.
