On campus learning has officially been in full swing for approximately a month, and with that the question has come up of how in-person versus online learning contributes to the effectiveness of the teaching going on in class.
While I believe that the use of technology in the classroom is more effective when teaching, it does pose some issues that traditional ways of teaching such as lectures and a simple pen and paper do not.
With the use of technology comes vast resources at your fingertips making it much simpler to find information efficiently as well as other materials needed for a class. However, with so many different outlets at your disposal, there also comes the easy access to distractions such as games, shows, and social media, all making it harder to focus in class.
teachers and staff at Dana have done an amazing job of making sure that no matter where a student is learning, everyone has the same access to learning and resources.
With that being said, in these times of online and in person learning, technology has become the sole way for students to learn. While there might be some hiccups along the way when it comes to teachers and technology, the teachers and staff at Dana have done an amazing job of making sure that no matter where a student is learning, everyone has the same access to learning and resources.
While it is unclear when everything in schools will go back to normal, or even what the new normal is, it is very refreshing as a student to see teachers wanting to be helpful and understanding in times like these. It is also encouraging to see Dana as a school rallying together to try and do right by everyone while making all students a priority. So while the method of teaching might be changing, the quality of teaching is staying equal for every student no matter at home or on campus.
