After finishing second place in league, the team hoped to continue their success in CIF.
On Nov. 5, at the CIF SS Southern Section, the team finished 14th out of 21 teams with a team score of 451. Senior Lauren Wahlstrom earned the team’s best score with an 80, and freshman Sydney Duvall came in second on the team with an 84. Despite the individual success, the team did not move on to the next round and played their last match of the season.
On Monday, Oct. 28, Wahlstrom competed in the CIF SS Southern Individuals. She played well, scoring an 82 over 18 holes. With the cut-off at 79, Wahlstrom did not advance to the next round.
From Monday, Oct. 21 through Thursday, Oct. 24, the team competed in League Finals. The team successfully managed to qualify for the first round of CIF. However, Wahlstrom was the only player on the team to qualify for the CIF SS Southern Individuals with a score of 158.
Each player stated their favorite memory from the past season. Sophomore Grace Johnson said, “My favorite memory is when we would just have fun life talks on the putting green before our match.”
Freshmen Sonnie Duvall said, “My favorite memory from golf was going to matches and meeting and playing with the other teams. Next year I’m most looking forward to meeting my new teammates and seeing how much the team has improved.”
Sophomore Allie Weinert reflected, “My favorite memory from golf is when Gianna and I tried using British accents for a whole match. Next year I am excited for try-outs and meeting new freshmen that come to the team.”
Duvall remarked, “My favorite memory this year was getting to go out and play against other teams, getting to know everyone, and making new friends. Next year I’m looking forward to making new friends and just having lots of fun.”
Freshmen Zoie Fuentes reflected on the year, commenting, “My favorite memories are when we all went to Tustin Ranch to eat lunch, and when we would make TikToks together.”
