As of the week of Apr. 26, 2021, Dana Hills High School has been permitted to have more students present on campus for four days a week, as opposed to the two day a week hybrid program that had been in place before. This is a huge step to reverting back to a typical school schedule, yet we must still be mindful of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students now have the opinion of continuing Program B or choosing the new Program A. Program B has no major changes to it’s schedule, as students will continue to log in from home for class. Program A is the new hybrid schedule where students will attend in person classes Tuesday through Friday. Mondays will still be virtual.
At school many students are now present on campus and it is clear that everyone is very excited to be back.
At school many students are now present on campus and it is clear that everyone is very excited to be back. The energy is high and, given our current situation, this may be the closest Dana students will get to a “normal” schedule this year. In spite of there being more students on campus, COVID-19 guidelines are still being regulated and followed. Wearing masks and social distancing are still to be practiced and will be enforced by the school.
All in all, the switch to in person classes appears to have been smooth and it is encouraging to see schools beginning to open back up. These steps are just reminders that we can get through this pandemic even after a long year of limited school experiences.
